When the eatery first opened its doors in 2015, they served typically padang food. However, the owner soon realised that authentic traditional padang dishes do not go down well with the residents around that area.
So what he did was tweaked the menu to suit the local palate. With the changes, now its array of popular dishes like beef rendang, curry chicken, ikan masak assam pedas and many more sell like hot cakes. On any one day you will see many repeat customers happily chomping on their favourite dishes.
While the place may not be air-conditioned, the atmosphere is rustic and comfortable.
The owner, Timothy who is a qualified engineer, had long had an interest in food. His entry into the food business stemmed from this personal interest and his menu is inspired by the food he grew up with.
We have eaten at Coba several times since its opening. Each time, we walked away satisfied.
The eatery also serves nasi ambeng, a dish of Javanese origin that consists of white rice served with chicken curry, beef rendang, vegetables, hard boiled egg in sambal, serunding and so on.
