| Ballet Flamenco Sara Baras |
Baras very aptly chose the theme 'Flavours'. For the entire duration of the performance, my attention was solely focused on her as she translated the varied flavours of her country into dance. Each dance was accompanied by its own unique musical rhythm which added to the enjoyment of the audience, including moi. A consummate dancer, Baras' every move exudes sensuality; every gesture speaks volume; and every footwork tells a powerful story. Sabores (Flavours) is an experienc of colour, palos (styles) and feelings. And feelings are what Baras has most successfully infused into her dance movements which she accomplishes so faultlessly. I liken her to Martha Graham, the great Dame of modern ballet. I left the theatre asking myself, "Could anyone be so insensitive as not to be moved by Baras?" It was a performance par excellence that earned her a standing ovation and multiple curtain calls.

| Nederlands Dans Theater |
As for the Nederlands Dans Theater, I am sure it has earned its rightful place in the dance arena. Its style is abstract; perhaps a little too abstract for my appreciation. Having said that, my observation is its lack of attitude which would have otherwise placed it in the same league as the Ballet Flamenco Sara Baras.
